La Familia is a 10 piece Latin American based group from Nanaimo, BC Canada, formed in 2014. The band's flavours come from rhythms of Cuba, Colombia, the Caribbean and Mexico. Many of these fiesta style dance songs are traditional and contemporary salsa, cumbia, samba and merengue styles with a few Latinized crossover covers as well. Our repetoire comes from the great groups such as Santana, The Gypsy Kings, Buena Vista Social Club Celia Cruz and Mana, La Familia’s music comprises of rhythmical selections that are infectiously fun, sensual and celebratory wrapped into one package, sure to make the body groove.
