The Moonshine Mollys

10:30pm - 2:00am

The Moonshine Mollys are a cool glass of lemonade on a warm summers day. They are acoustic guitars and cowboy boots, or should I say cowgirl boots? Shining bright like lightning bugs in a jar, and running barefoot through grassy fields at night. They are West Coast Country and they create sounds as sweet as a honey suckle in June. A sisterhood of talent, friendship and music, these lovely ladies are hard at work performing up and down Vancouver Island, gaining recognition along the way. Mixing sweetness with sour, darkness with light, Moonshine Mollys can truly chronicle the complex emotions that are Country Music. Writing and collaborating with industry professionals to release their first single later this year, Moonshine Mollys are dedicated to bringing out the best in themselves as a group. Their combined experience comes together into something beautiful and truly unique, evolving over time into who they are today. A busy summer approaches for this all female band with performances at Parksville’s Canada Day Celebration, Nanaimo’s Pride Celebration-sponsored by MACK TRUCK, and Parkville’s Music in the Park Summer Concert. Fronting the band is lead singer and Country Idol 2017 winner Cassandra Smith, whose love for country music has been the driving force behind this machine since the beginning. Along side her are Kairis Gingerysty the spicy brunette, lead vocalist & percussionist and from Boondock the newest sister on guitar and vocals, Amanda Usher. Rounding out the band are Sydney Needham on keyboard and vocals, Kaylie Russell on guitar and Maddy Thomas on bass and vocals. Drummer, vocalist and manager Jona Kristinsson keeps them all in line with 30 years of experience in the music industry. Plus, numerous musical collaborations such as Wunderbread, The Femme Fatales and IRIS. “From their opening notes to the final song, the Mollys entertained the audience with fan-favourite tunes, and combined a little bit of naughty with a little bit of nice.” says Carroll Xavier of DNBI. To enjoy a little bit of Moonshine Mollys charm, join them this summer down the road throughout BC, plus promoting the upcoming single later this year. Keep your eye on these ladies or better…your ears.
