The Queen’s is very pleased to announce legendary New York rocker Willie Nile is coming to Nanaimo for an early show on Saturday, August 13th with his crackerjack band of NY musicians in support of his 2021 album, The Day the Earth Stood Still featuring the single Blood On Their Hands with Steve Earle.

On this west coast swing they are shooting a documentary featuring interviews with some of Nile's famous fans and peers like Bruce Springsteen and Bono who believe Willie deserves to be in the pantheon with his killer live shows and critically lauded albums Golden Down, The Innocent Ones, Streets of New York, Positively Bob, (a tribute to Dylan) and World War Willie. The band is closing this tour opening for the Who in Woodstock, NY.
His band is drawn from the NYC CBGB elite with members having toured with Blondie, the Ramones and Hank Williams Jr. Opening the show is former Lowest of the Low frontman Stephen Stanley with Chris Bennet. Following the show is the Summertime Blues afterjam with Thor & the Thundercats so this night will be one to remember for serious Nanaimo music fans.
